Will robots help the elderly in the near future?

Will robots help the elderly in the near future?

The answer is a resounding yes, at least by looking at the news reported by Komo News, in the article here:

http://www.komonews.com/news/offbeat/Robocoach-Your-cybernetic-personal-trainer-336440471.html

A collaborative idea from Singapore's IDA and MSF, Robocoach was developed by Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP). The robot is part of a larger effort to help various segments of society including seniors, enhance their quality of life through infocomm.

Due to the rise in the ageing population, there has also been high demand for healthcare and eldercare professionals.

The first Robocoach is currently being tested at a Senior Activity Centre (SAC), the Lions Befrienders.

Trained volunteers are also present to help seniors during the routine. This exercise robot, has been well received by seniors who have been able to enjoy physical exercise in a novel way, while enhancing cognitive abilities.

This is very interesting for me, as in my novel, The Strangers, robots such as Otto, and cyborgs such as Reginald the parrot and 2 human cyborgs, are employed to help the ageing population with various tasks.

Their mission extends well beyond basic help - this is science fiction and everything is possible!

It's so exciting to see how my vision of the future is slowly becoming reality.

Do let me know if any cyborgs come out …I might wish to interview them!

How to publish a book with Amazon Create Space

How do you self publish a book? I am asked this question quite often now, soI have decided to put my little experience in writing to help you out. Here is the link you want: https://www.createspace.com/ I worked out lots of information after signing as much of the info only comes out after having a title etc and going through the whole process. For example the speed of the proof and the price are only found out in the very end of the order... So, let's go in order. To self publish a book you need to create an account with "Create space", which is the publishing arm of Amazon. Then you choose a title, you are given a free ISBN number, and you upload your own cover and your contents in pdf file. You can do this for free or you can you their (paid) services to create a cover and proof-read the book. You can also use their free templates (useful for margins, headers and page breaks). Usually people create the book in .doc and then upload it in .pd...
