Green Smoothie recipe

In the last couple of months we have really grown to like this green smoothie, so it's time to share the recipe.

Green Smoothie

Ingredients:

- a couple of leaves of kale (without the hard bit in the middle)
- Apple juice or other fruit juice you prefer,  filling 1/4 of the Vitamix jug
- 3 ripe bananas
- a handful of almonds

- optional, 1 bananas and 3 pears instead of 3 bananas
- optional, fresh and tender lettuce instead of kale
- optional, a bit of crushed ice

Preparation:

Put kale and apple juice in the blender and mix until the liquid is perfectly smooth
Add the other ingredients, then mix
If you wish, add a bit of ice but don't crush it too small
Pour and enjoy!

Review: Tesco "free from" ginger cookies (with gluten-free oat flour) wheat, dairy and gluten free

Tesco "free from" ginger cookies  http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=268624669 Hello everyone! Winter is here and it's been snowing in Norfolk - as well as in the rest of the U.K.  This is the time when all the resolutions of eating only fresh, nutritious food, raw and healthy, disappear at the same speed that the outside temperature decreases. Two weeks ago I decided to go wheat free - just like that - or cold turkey, someone would rather say more idiomatically. How to heal from Paronychia (bacterial nail infection) with herbs!

I am curious by nature , so I couldn't help asking him what happened to his finger. Carl, that was his name, promptly showed me and my daughter his finger (after taking off bandage and sling of course). To have an idea of what it looked like, have a look at Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paronychia It looks painful, doesn't it? He said that when he was watching a football on TV, he didn't realise that his nail-biting had gone a bit over the limit, and he had torn some flesh. His doctor was about to see him in two days, he reassured me, and he probably expected to be given antibiotics to treat the infection. Not happy with what I saw, I suggested a few herbs that could help him earlier than his G.P. appointment. However, once I got hom...

The pirate drawing!

I love how Marie has coloured my pirate. Such a cute choice of pastel colours. Who on earth said that pirates must wear just black and earth colours! This is great! Brava!
